I took out a blue saree and matching blouse and petticoat. Her blouse fit well for me, except that I didn’t have breasts.

This is the first time I was wearing a saree, but I had seen videos on how to wear a saree many times. As all first timers I couldn’t get it right, I tried a few more time and finally got it some where close to right.

As I finished draping and was looking at myself in the mirror, the girl walked in. She came towards me and gave a hard slap on my left cheek. I was so involved in adjusting the saree looking at the mirror, I knew her arrival only after I got the slap.

“How dare you wear my dress without my permission?” She asked in a loud angry voice.

“I couldn’t control myself. I am sorry, I will remove and wash it, if you don’t like.” I replied in a sad scared voice.

I took my left hand to the shoulder to remove it.

She at one held my hand and said, “Stop, you want to wear the saree, correct?”

“Yes” I said in a soft voice, looking down

“You couldn’t control yourself, correct?” She asked.

“Yes” I said again in a soft voice, looking down.

“If you are that much interested in the saree, let’s go out and show it to all.” She said.

“Ok, I want to show it to my and your mother.” I said.

She smiled and said, “I didn’t mean out of the room, I meant out of the house, to the public.”

Fear took hold of me as she said that.

“NO!” the word came out unconsciously.

She gave another slap and said, “Don’t scream, I make decisions here not you.”

She held my right hand wrist and pulled me out, she was really strong, I struggled but couldn’t pull my hand out.

She first showed me to both the mothers, they said I look nice. I felt happy but was still afraid of the things going to happen next.
