Refreshment – 5

(Rama’s narration continues)“What do you mean by that? Aren’t others human?” I asked.“They are, but a human could be either man or woman. So when I call you human, it means that you could be either man or woman.” She said.“I know I am a man, how do I become a woman?” I asked.“My dear, why so hurry. First become a girl and then let her grow into a woman. First bring her to the surface. Dress her in a skirt and blouse or half saree and then make sure you are comfortable in them. Learn to walk with the long skirt, then run, climb stairs, all smoothly. Feminity is all about smoothness. Smooth curves not sharp angles.” She said. Then I got up from the chair and got ready to leave. She too got up and came walked behind me up to the door. Her movements were so elegant that I was mesmerized by them.

Then I said. “Madam, your movements are so gorgeous.”“A real teacher teaches through all her actions. And don’t call me madam, sister would be better and plain Janavi would be even better.” She said.“How can I call you by name? You are my teacher.” I asked.“Madam gives respect. If you call by name that shows love. Respect keeps one above the other, love keeps them equal and at times takes one into the other. I need to be close to my student.” She said.I thanked her and left home. I bought a blue silk traditional long skirt and blouse. After some time I became familiar with it. I swept and cleaned the house with them. I loved the way the fabric moved over my legs. I loved carrying them with both hands when climbing stairs and tucking them at the waist while sweeping.

I wanted to try something else so I took a metal pot and walked to the well in my backyard garden. Filled it and carried it back by placing it on my waist. I even managed to put a rangoli at my front yard. That is how Rama came out, then with time I moved from skirt and blouse to saree, and then grew up from being a girl to a woman.”Then after two months Rama invited the other three to her house, this time all three had discovered the woman in them. Rahim was Rizana and Robert was Rose. All four were in silk sarees, Rama in white, Rani in blue, Rizana in Maroon and Rose in Violet.Rama took them to a room at the back of the house and then took an old wooden box from the floor and placed it on the table at the centre of the room. The box was given to her by Janavi. She opened it and there were four sets of jewellery.

Before touching them Rama told the story of Princess Anita to the other three, this story was previously narrated to Rama by Janavi.“These are the jewellery of Princess Anita. The hair ornaments are for me, nose ring and chain is for Rani, ear rings are for Rizana, chocker for Rose.” Said Rama. All three wore their jewellery. The rings had screws only to tighten, so there was no need to pierce. Then Rama took them out and to the first floor. She showed each one of them a separate room and said that there is a surprise waiting for them inside. All three entered their room and found their wife in male attire. Rama had guided them in finding the man in them. All three spend the night as wife of their respective wife’s male form. From then onwards their life had a different tune.
