“Because I saw an aspect of feminine in you.” She said.
“Do you mean, I behaved like a girl?” I asked.
“No dear, feminine doesn’t mean girlish. It is an aspect of the universe, it is present in everything. Living and non-living. For a thing to be complete and full, there should be an intricate mix of both masculine and feminine elements. But these days it’s rare to find the feminine element in men, and I saw it in you, so I wanted to help you in becoming complete.”
I was amazed by her description. “How do you know all these?” I asked here.
“I am member of a feminine cult.” she replied and continued. ” I think it is time for you to reveal yourself to your sister.”
“But..” I tried to reply.
“I’ll speak with your sister, I will make her understand you. Wait, I’ll go and speak to her right now.” she got up. I stopped her. “Don’t you trust me?” she asked looking into my eyes. I let her go.She came closer and said. “You should stop being scared of your sister and start loving and respecting her.”“Why should I respect her, she doesn’t understand me.” I replied.
“You should respect her because she came out of your mother’s womb before you. If that’s not enough you should respect her because she is a woman, not just a woman but a bold and courageous woman.” she said and walked out of the house.I waited, and after around one and half hour I heard someone knocking on the door. “It’s me.” I heard her voice. I opened the door, she walked in followed by my sister.
My sister was surprised to see me in saree.“Won’t you show respect to your sister?” my girl asked with a smile, I stood confused. “Won’t you touch her feet.” she said. I bowed down and touched my sister’s feet. I thought my sister will be angry, but she was not. She touched my head. I got up and hugged her.My girl has given me one of the greatest gift in the whole world.[until now Arjun narrated the story while waiting for his girl to return with his sister, from now on it is narrated by him from a different time.]All three of us cooked together and my sister had lunch with us. After lunch my sister left. Then I asked my girl how she managed to do this. She said. “I went to your sister and said that, your brother loves to wear sarees but is not trying to become a girl but he simply wants to understand the feminine.
He is not behaving like a girl and he is a complete man who has a spiritual attraction towards feminine. I also added that just like cooking or any other action has no gender, that is the “act” of cooking is neither masculine or feminine, but the “way” you cook might be masculine or feminine, not both. By the “way” I mean the way you move your hands etc. Similarly the saree is neither masculine or feminine, it is the behaviour of the person who wears it, that makes the saree either masculine or feminine. It is like a housewife wearing the saree will make it feminine but a king wearing the saree will make it masculine.”[Arjun never had a sexual arousal while wearing the saree, he only had a psychological feeling.]“What did she say?” I asked.
“She said that she loved and cared about you, and that she slapped and scolded you because she feared you are taking a wrong path, but when she heard my explanation she wanted to meet you, so she came with me.She continued. “You know what, the saree teaches many things to the wearer irrespective of gender.”
“Teaches! But how?” I asked.
“The saree teaches a person the power of being simple. The saree is a simple piece of cloth, but you could add any complexity to it as you wear it. I can be worn in many different styles, but think about stitched clothes, even if it is complex, when you wear it is simple, because you can wear it only one way.”
“What else?” I asked her.
“You need to adjust the saree from time to time, but doing so it teaches the person to be alert and aware.”
It seemed that if I kept asking she would keep on answering.
It was evening by then, I left and returned home. I was exited to meet my sister, I need to spend some time with her.
