It was Naresh’s 11th birthday, it was night, he had just finished his birthday party and dinner. It was a small party, only his family and close friends. Everybody had left. He collected all the presents and walked into his room.Of all the presents one was special, it was from his elder sister, Nandhitha’s. She was 20 years old. His birthday was in the year end vacation, so every year his sister’s birthday present was something important in the coming academic year.He didn’t want to break the excitement, he decided to open it at last. Once he opened it, he was shocked. It was a blue panty. “Why did she give me this, all her presents were useful.” He thought. He couldn’t understand.

He at once ran to his sister’s room. She was in the same purple lehenga choli that she had been wearing for the party. She was seated on the stool in front of her dressing table. She had untied her long hair, it almost touched the floor. She had just opened the bottle to paint her finger nails. She turned her head, when she heard the door open. Her brother briskly walked towards her and asked in an angry and confused tone. “Why did you give me this?”“Because you will need it dear.” She replied calmly with a smile.“What?” He shouted.“Calm down dear.” She said and turned ninety degrees towards him and said. “I always wanted a sister, when mother was pregnant I was very exited and expected a sister. But you ended up a boy.

But today I am lucky to have you as a sister.“Do you remember getting a severe fever when you were six years old.” She asked.“Yes, kind of, what has that got to do with this?” He asked.“Well, as our father is a doctor and he was away from home when you were sick. Mother phoned dad and asked what to do. He told her about some medicines he had at home. But accidentally mother gave you one of his new genetic research tablets. I got to know about this when I over heard a discussion between mom and dad. Father told mother that the drug will take effect in five years exactly and if you remember it happened on your sixth birthday.

The drug will turn you into a girl. Two days back mother came to me and struggled to tell me this, I told her that I already knew it. They didn’t know how to tell this to you. As you are more close to me than them, they wanted me to reveal this to you.” She finished her explanation.He looked down at him and asked. “How could that be possible, I am still a boy.”“Well dear, you are already a girl inside. Your voice had already changed a bit. It will take two more days for your body to change completly.” She replied.The room was silent for a few minutes.

He thought about it deeply and decided to accept this new life wholeheartedly. Then his sister asked. “Will you be my maid, I won’t be a harsh mistress. ”He smiled and replied.” Of course, mistress.” He loved to be with his sister, and how will he reject such a chance. She then turned her head towards the bed and said. “Why don’t you wear them?” There was a blue traditional long silk skirt and blouse. He walked towards the bed, moved his right hand over them and then took them and changed into then and came back to her. She painted two of her nails in front of him and then asked him to paint the others, he did as told. Then she said. “The toes.” He sat on the floor next to her feet, she raised her lehenga and petticoat a bit. He started painting them.
